How To Change the System Tray Icon in Windows 7

In Windows 7, the handling of the System Tray Icon will be a lot different than the one in Windows XP. You can select and apply the settings, whether the icon is displayed or hidden.

In this article will explain how to display, how to hide and how to do this customization in the system tray.

If you are an already expert in the field of computers, this article may not be of much use because this will discuss the basic tricks in the use of computers. You can read other, more weighty article which discusses the understanding of computer science and a more in-depth Windows.





By default, System Tray icon will be hidden and only displayed when you click the small arrow on the right side of the taskbar. If you want an icon continues to appear in front (like the default icons Windows XP), you can kick and move the icon to the taskbar. With this, the icon will trlihat on the front and will not be hidden by another icon.


Besides that way, you can display or not display the icon on the front with a custom way of doing it manually. The trick, click the small arrow button and proceed to click the link "Customize". After that, it will go out the window that can be used to customize the System Tray. Look at the screenshot below. 

  
To display all the icons and notifications, Show icon and notification. If you want to hide the icon, select the Hide icon and notification. If you only want to display a notification, select Only show notification. Then click the OK button to activate the changes you just did. 



Now, please look at the taskbar at the bottom right, there you will see the icons were hidden or appear in accordance with what has been your previous settings.
